It has been revealed that conjoined twin Abby Hensel, who hosted the reality show Abby & Brittany, secretly wed Josh Bowling, a veteran of the army.

Public papers acquired by Today reveal that Bowling and Abby, who is currently 34, got married for the first time in 2021. The couple’s residence in Minnesota, where Abby and Brittany are fifth-grade teachers, was also mentioned in the publication. Bowling, meantime, is a veteran of the US Army and a nurse.

Given that the conjoined twins were dressed in a white lace dress, the photo on the Hensel family’s Facebook profile seems to be of them during the wedding. Bowling donned a grey suit and a white button-down shirt for his wedding.

Bowling has posted a number of pictures of himself and the conjoined twins on Facebook from various events, such as a hike and a snow tubing excursion. He mentioned being a father in his bio as well.

According to the National Institutes of Health, Abby and Brittany Hensel are uncommon examples of conjoined twins that are “fused side-by-side with the same pelvis,” or dicephalus conjoined twins. They have separate hearts, brains, and other organs, yet they have two heads on a single torso. Since Brittany controls the left arm and leg and Abby the right, they share all organs below the waist and the bloodstream.

The 1990-born twins first opened up about their experience in public in 1996 when they made an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show. Abby & Brittany, a TLC reality show that followed their lives after they graduated from Bethel College in Minnesota and were getting ready to move to Europe to teach, aired in 2012.

In the first episode of the show, the twins stated, “People have been curious about us since we were born, for obvious reasons,” according to ABC News. However, our parents never permitted us to make such a claim. Our upbringing instilled in us the belief that we could accomplish anything.

They discussed how they plan daily tasks together, such as getting ready for a party or acquiring food from the house’s shelves, in the reality show.

“When it comes to decisions, there are compromises we have to make,” Abby said. “We take turns. We want to work it so each of us is happy and we find a happy medium.”

In 2001, Mike and Patty, the twins’ parents, talked about their hopes for their children’s future marriage in an interview with Time magazine. Mike clarified at the time that his girls were inquiring about eventually finding husbands before he gave the concept a “why not?” as other conjoined twins have married.

“Those are attractive females. They are clever. They’re together, he paused and said, “They’ve got everything going for them, except…”

Additionally, Mike mentioned that when the twins were first born, he and his wife decided against separating the twins since the physicians had informed them that there was very little possibility that both Abby and Brittany would survive the procedure. He questioned, “How could you choose between the two?”
